Is Marketing Outsourcing Right For You?

It can be hard to determine whether outsourcing your marketing is the right choice. We're here to help you decide.  Discover the advantages and disadvantages and what we can do to alleviate your fears and help you make the right decision for you.

Advantages of outsourcing marketing

There are a lot of reasons why outsourcing your marketing makes sense.  Here's just a few:

1.  Gives you time to focus on your business

By having someone else handle your marketing, you can spend time focusing on other areas of your business.  Is it time to find a new paper supplier?  Do you need to add new products?  We can handle your marketing while you handle the parts of the business that have been neglected while you've been trying to grow.

2.  Creates a Brand Identity

As your marketing grows with us, your business and your brand will start to become more recognizable.  Along with brand recognition comes additional sales.  Creating a strong brand identity is key to growth.

3.  Narrows down your target audience to better reach them

As we discuss your ideal customer, we'll build your buyer persona which will dictate a lot of your marketing strategy.  Whether you know who that is or are still working on it, we can help you focus in on who your core customer really is and how we can reach them.

4.  Get real about analytics

We can handle all of your analytics, so that your strategy can be data-driven.  Marketing is fluid, and what you thought was reaching customers may not be, or you may be able to find a new audience by reviewing who is really clicking, calling, and buying your product.  Plus we can start to predict seasonality and adjust your marketing budget accordingly!

Disadvantages of outsourcing marketing

Obviously, choosing to outsource your marketing is a big decision, with a lot of points to consider. We want to help you make that decision by answering some of the biggest questions we've seen come up.

1.  What if I need help right that minute, but you're busy with another client?

Clearly, when you pass the marketing reins to a company like ours, instead of an in-house employee, you're not our only client.  However, we at Belltower Advertising make it a point to make every client's needs our own.  This means we respond quickly, act quickly, and can make changes almost as fast as you can request them.  Sure, some requests might take more time, but our clients never feel like they are second best, no matter their budget.

2.  Is it going to cost me an arm and a leg?

Depending on who you hire as your outsource marketing partner and how they bill you, costs can add up.  At Belltower, we set an annual total and for that rate, you get a remote employee who is ready to do what you need, when you need them to.  Rarely would a request exceed the amount of hours dedicated to your account based on your total fee structure.  Some agencies would require a retainer and then charge you additional hours after you quickly burn through your time.  We don't believe in that kind of pricing.  Think of us as a salary employee, while those other agencies are hourly employees.  They might be cheaper upfront, but it's the overtime that will kill you.

3.  What if I don't agree with your suggestions?

Just like any working relationship, we might not always agree with the best course of action.  We have years of experience and data to support our recommendations, but at the end of the day, it's YOUR money we are spending and we're going to spend it the way you want.  We can only advise, but we're your employee, we'll do what you want in the end.

Final Thoughts

With the right partner, outsourcing your marketing department is the best way to focus on your business while your marketing partner can focus on the growth.  You can save money from hiring one person with only handful of years of experience and instead spend that money for an entire team that has more experience and resources at your fingertips.  If you're ready to utilize this great option then we're ready to talk.
